This week in Coláiste Muire Cobh we are celebrating Stand Up Awareness Week.
This is an annual campaign run by Belong To, which gives second-level schools the opportunity to celebrate and recognise their LGBTQ+ community.
It is a time when we show solidarity with young people and our colleagues to ensure they feel seen, heard, and safe, and to ensure everyone knows that biphobic, homophobic, and transphobic language and bullying will not be tolerated.
We have an amazing group of young people who have worked very hard planning this week, putting up posters, creating goodie bags and organising several events.
