The Junior Cycle Home Economics Cookery Examinations have been confirmed for the period Wednesday 27th April to Friday 29th April, inclusive.

General Advice:

All students should by now have received the relevant details (dates and times) from their Home Economics teacher. Any queries on this can be made to Mr. D. Walsh (Home Economics Teacher).

Students are required to present themselves 45minutes before the exam to allow them to prepare, sign in and meet the examiner. Please note that these dates and times are agreed with the State Exams Commission and cannot be changed. Mobile phones and/or other recording/electronic devices are prohibited in the examination room and such devices are to be left outside. This includes the use of smart watches. The wearing of masks is strongly recommended.

UNAVOIDABLE ABSENCES:

The State Exams Commission may run additional sessions for situations where a candidate is absent through illness, for example, at the time the examinations are held. As of yet, no dates have been advised for this, however, this has occurred as late as during the summer break in previous years. An application for such arrangements must be made by the school authorities and must be supported by medical evidence. It will not be possible to make alternative arrangements for any candidate other than those mentioned above. Medical certification is required in all circumstances including for reasons of absence due to Covid- 19.
