We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped raise €1,000 for Cobh Community Hospital. We are delighted to have hosted our Annual Christmas Jumper Day again last December and we decided to nominate Cobh Community Hospital as our charity this year as the hospital is a fantastic local hospital with strong links to our school.

We decided it was fitting to present our cheque to the hospital on Wednesday last, the day during Catholic Schools Week, the day that highlights the link we have with our Grandparents. Some of our TY Team Leaders accompanied Ms. Buckley to present the cheque to the Friends of Cobh Hospital in the grounds of the hospital.

Cobh Community Hospital is owned, managed, and supported by the local community, it is providing long term care, respite, and palliative care to those most in need in a 44bed facility. As it is not a HSE hospital no capital finance or equipment funding is provided and all such expenditure is met from the proceeds of fundraising, sadly many of their fundraising sources and initiatives have greatly diminished due to the Covid pandemic.

The Hospital are reached out to the wider community and invited everyone to take part in a “Cobh Christmas Jumper Day” on Friday 17th December last in aid of Cobh Hospital. Our Christmas Jumper Day was a huge success, and we are thrilled to have been involved in such a wonderful event.
