Yesterday our junior rugby team took part in an 11 aside Blitz in Musgrave Park.  They won all 4 of their games.  An impressive result with 5 of the players in the squad competing in their first ever game of rugby.  Following the Blitz, the team were involved in filming a piece for Ireland AM.  Former Ireland International Tommy Bowe and TV presenter Alan Hughes met the lads on the pitch where the Col players put them to the test across a series of drills and games.  When filming had concluded Bowe took the time to play a match alongside the players, answered any of their questions and took some pictures too.  Players and coach Mr. Barry were delighted for the opportunity to be involved on the day and great fun was had by all.  A special thanks to Cobh Pirates for kitting out our players.  Well done to all our players for proudly representing our school on National TV and on their great win in their first schools’ rugby Blitz.  The piece should be aired on Virgin Media Wednesday, Nov 1st.

Take a look at our socials to see more photos of the lads in action.Â
